Changes
Through
out the years our images of time change
Each decade
brings with it a new prospective
As a child
in the first ten years
We see
the future as lasting forever
Each day
brings a newness to all we see
And the
months seem endless they go so slowly
In our teens
there is so much to experience
And each
day is an adventure
This is
the time when we try out our wings
And start
searching for who we want to be
The twenties
bring our family years
Those years
when most of us have our children
The world
is bright with hopes and dreams
And we
still feel we are invincible
The thirties
go much faster and we see life is not forever
And our
children are growing up and soon will leave
This makes
us aware how beautiful and challenging
This world
can be as we still see it through their eyes
Now we realize
our life will change
No longer
will being a mother all there is to be
Now we
have to look within and find our who we are
And what
we must do to be who we want to be
The forties
bring a new found freedom
The chance
to look beyond the hearth and home
We take
what we have learned and make it work
It is the
end of one era and the beginning of another
The fifties
bring it all together and we know which way to go
And we
realize we are not immortal and years go swifter
Days go
faster and we question where they go
They say
these are our "golden years"
These are
the years when we pull all our experiences together
We know
this is the second phase, a chance to spread our wings
To try
new things for the first time and redefine our goals
Many are
now grandparents and our children are adults
The sixties
we start our third phase, one of contemplation
How we
spend these days depend on how you see yourself
Some feel
the world has passed them by
Still others
feel like their life is just beginning
Depending
how we use our energies
This can
be the loveliest of all the times
Most no
longer have to work a job
And have
time to learn new ways to spend our time
Some travel,
take up painting or volunteer doing things
We were
to busy making a living to learn how to do
We should
never fear tomorrow
