Birth of a Person

Time passes by and with it goes youth
Some perceive that as sad
Yet youth is replaced with something more dear
A sense of one's self that builds through the years
No longer do you need the approval of others
You find an uniqueness that is yours alone
That special combination of strengths and weaknesses
The talents and characteristics that define who you are
No one but you shares the exact same experiences
You reached who you are in your own special way
Some people you meet try to tag you
To fit into their world
Others avoid you, for you are different from them
You learn how to draw on the learning's of others
Yet blend what they show you
To enhance what you have
No longer a shadow created by others light
Now you are whole and shine from within
Each day brings new fuel to add to your flame
And as the way becomes clearer
Your fears become less, and your dreams stronger
A new day full of using the knowledge you have gained
Is fast coming near and won't be suppressed
For this is what you've worked for and denied so long
The birth of a person .....You!
