Backsliding

Again I have allowed work, worry and things

to drop a veil

It blocks my vision and makes life stale

It mutes the sights and smells that surround

And makes me forget God's beauty that abounds

Within my box I rarely see

The wonders of life where the costs are free

A bird in flight, a flower in bloom

Gets lost somehow in our news filled with doom

These words I believe are seldom heard

Respect, love, hard work and efforts with

rewards well earned

If I care not for you, and you care not for me

It is no surprise that neither of us can see

For caring and sharing adds depth to life

And shines on the world with light so bright

It lifts the veil and us see

God gave so much beauty to you and me
