Moonlight True

The moonlight filters
into my dark corner
where I wait alone.

In the dark night
everything is clear
and separate.

Right and wrong.
Black and white.

The stars bear witness
to the Truth
and I know what
I believe.

But soon the day
will come and
chase away
the darkness,
cloud the clear sky

And rain confusion
upon my soul.

If only I could cry
out in this present night
and avoid the sun's
forgetful rays.
If only I could
remember what I saw
tonight,

Alone, in this dark corner
where the moonlight
soothes my tears.
