The Lonely
Woman
Take a look
inside my heart and see the lonely
woman living inside
She doesn't
look anything like me I feel her
wish to die
.
She lives
alone, no one to believe, in her with
never a doubt
Of what her
love could truly be…. Of what she
is about
.
She cries
in sorrow, wracked
with pain Her spirit
… it is broke
Yet there
is that resolve inside of her
In which
she always carries the hope That one
day she will care again
.
She
lives in fear of what is to become and remembers what she
used to be
She
smiles for a brief moment then stops…… so suddenly
.
Afraid to
open up to feelings the
powerful and mild She knows
to well
The hurt which lies there
She's known since she was just a
child
.
No one to
truly love her No one who
thinks she's fine
No one to
look at her in awe and say "My
God She's Mine"
.
So safe
inside of me she stays Alone and
out of sight
She lives
there in her special place
Where she
knows she'll be alright
.
Once a day,
and sometimes more,
You knock
upon my daydream door
And I say,
"Come right in. I'm glad
you're here with me again"
.
Then we sit
down and have a chat,
Recalling
this, discussing that,
Until some
task that I must do
Forces me
away from you
.
Reluctantly, I say goodbye,
Smiling
with a little sigh,
For tho' my
daydreams bring you near
I wish that
you were really here
.
But what
reality cannot change My dreams
and wishes can arrange
And through
my wishes you'll be brought to me each
day, my dear, in thought.
